Governor Douye Diri has invited Indorama-Nigeria to establish operations in Bayelsa State, citing the state’s abundant natural gas reserves, strategic location and investor-friendly policies as key attractions. The invitation was personally extended by the governor on Thursday, 13th November 2025, during an engaging tour of Indorama’s exhibition stand at the Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Yenagoa, venue of the 41st Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition of the Rivers/Bayelsa Branch of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).Impressed by Indorama’s transformative success since acquiring the former Eleme Petrochemicals in 2006, Governor Diri urged the company to replicate its Rivers State model in Bayelsa. He assured the firm of steady gas supply, security, modern infrastructure, and attractive incentives, including land in the upcoming Agge Industrial Park.Bayelsa is open for business. We have the resources, the vision, and the political will to support serious investors like Indorama to thrive and create thousands of jobs, Governor Diri stated. MAN Rivers/Bayelsa Branch Chairman, Elder Vincent Okuku, praised the governor’s deliberate investment drive, while National President, Otunba Francis Meshioye, described Bayelsa as a rising industrial destination in the Niger Delta. During the event, Indorama was honoured with a prestigious appreciation award for its contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing sector. The AGM also featured election of executives and council members to pilot the affairs of the association for another one year. Mr. Justice Tienabeso Bibiye, Head Corporate Communications at Indorama-Nigeria was elected as Council Member of Rivers/Bayelsa branch of MAN for the 2025/2026 fiscal year. Elder Vincent Okuku, Engineer Michael Nosa Agana and Mrs. Timi Opuala-Charles were elected Chairman, Vice- Chairman and Treasurer respectively. The three-day AGM attracted top government officials, industry leaders, innovators and investors from across the country.
