IEFCL Meritorious Program
IEFCL Meritorious Program

The Indorama Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (IUSS) is one of the many ways Indorama Eleme Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited contributes to the educational development in Nigeria. This scholarship scheme is means of assistance positioned for high performing undergraduate students, to promote academic excellence among the students in the field of agriculture. So far, 105 students have been awarded scholarships as part of our commitment to support the next generation of agricultural professionals.

Indorama’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative has launched the distribution of exercise books across various communities in rural public schools. This program, warmly received by the communities, aims to support educational resources for students in underserved areas. Indorama is tackling sanitation challenges in Nigeria by installing smart, affordable toilets for farmers, reducing open defecation and improving hygiene. This initiative aligns with UN SDG 6.2, which promotes equitable sanitation and hygiene access for all by 2030. By addressing poor sanitation, Indorama helps prevent disease, enhance public health, and improve overall well-being in rural communities. So far, 300,000 people have benefited from the SATO toilet initiative.

Indorama promotes gender development by distributing school bags to primary school girls in Nigeria, easing financial burdens and encouraging education. This initiative empowers future female leaders in agriculture, fostering inclusivity and economic growth. By investing in girls' education, Indorama supports sustainable development and a more equitable agricultural landscape in Nigeria. So far, 17,500 girls have received school bags, supporting education and empowerment.
